You choose your processor — Stripe or Square. Stripe supports credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link. Square supports credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Either way, funds settle directly to your bank account.
Yes! Pro and Plus plans include custom domain support. We handle the SSL certificate automatically.
TrooNow charges zero platform fees on your orders. If you use Stripe, their standard rate (2.9% + 30¢ per transaction) applies and goes directly to Stripe. If you use Square, their standard rate (2.6% + 10¢ for in-person, 2.9% + 30¢ for online) applies and goes directly to Square. Either way, TrooNow takes nothing from your sales.

Yes. Any tablet becomes a POS — tap menu items, take cash/card/check, apply tax + tip, print a receipt. Every sale logs as an order so your revenue reports include walk-ins, not just online orders. Multi-truck tenants pick which truck the tablet is ringing up for so every sale gets attributed correctly.
Yes, on Pro and above. Pro includes an expense ledger, vendors, mileage log, P&L and sales-tax summary. Plus adds bills and accounts payable. They are not a replacement for a CPA, and nothing in them is tax, legal, or accounting advice. Terms §8.
Depends on your payment processor. Stripe users: (1) Enter a flat rate in Settings and we add it to every order — you're responsible for the rate being correct and for filing. (2) Turn on Stripe Tax and Stripe calculates the right rate at checkout based on your nexus registrations — then Stripe, not TrooNow, carries rate responsibility. Square users: Configure your tax rates in the Square Dashboard → Sales Taxes. Square applies them automatically at checkout. TrooNow does not file returns or determine your nexus regardless of processor. Check with a CPA.
No. Figures in the P&L, tax summary, and mileage pages reflect only the data you enter and the orders processed through TrooNow — they do not include cash sales, adjusting entries, payroll, or off-platform activity. Always have a licensed CPA review before filing.
Yes. Create staff members with a 4–6 digit PIN and pick a role: Owner, Manager, Server, or Kitchen. Servers can take orders but can't see Stripe or Settings. Kitchen just sees the queue. One tablet, one PIN per shift — no shared passwords.
Connect your Twilio account (5-minute setup, ~1 cent per text). We handle the sending — order alerts, location broadcasts with geofencing so only people nearby get texted, review requests, and weather cancellations.
Yes — every plan includes a free listing on our public /book-a-truck directory. Customers can search by city/cuisine, see a live map of trucks open right now, star their favorites, and click through to your ordering page. Plus plans get Featured placement and priority on the map.
Depends on your processor. With Stripe: Option A (online checkout handoff, 2.9% + 30¢) — cashier taps Complete Sale, customer scans a QR code and pays on their phone. Option B (Stripe Terminal reader, 2.7% + 5¢) — pair a BBPOS Chipper 2X (~$59) or Stripe S700 (~$349) over Bluetooth. With Square: use the Square reader you already own — it works for both in-person and online orders. TrooNow takes zero cut either way.

Pick paper width (80mm or 58mm) in settings, optionally flip on Auto-print, and receipts print on every sale with your logo, order number, itemized totals, and a custom footer. Hardware $80–250 depending on speed / cutter / network features.
Yep. Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works — they act as keyboards, so no drivers or integrations. Assign a UPC (or generate an internal code) to each menu item, scan at the window, and the item drops into the cart with a beep. Print your own barcode sticker sheets directly from the admin — pick items, how many of each, and print to any sticker paper (Avery 5160 / 5163) or plain paper. Great for prepped items, shelf tags, festival pre-bagged specials.
Yes — food trucks are who we built it for, but TrooNow works for restaurants too. When you sign up you pick your business type: Food Truck, Restaurant, or Both. Restaurant mode unlocks reservations, table QR ordering, dine-in order management, and a Visit Us block on your homepage. Food truck features (live map, pre-orders, festival mode) are hidden when not needed so your admin stays clean.
Enable reservations in Settings, set your open/close time, slot duration, and how far out customers can book. A Reserve button appears on your site and in the nav. Customers fill out a form with their name, date, time, party size, and any special requests. You manage it all from /admin/reservations — confirm, seat, assign a table number, or cancel with one click.
Go to Admin → Tables and add your tables (Table 1, Table 2, etc.). Print the QR code for each table — they're auto-generated. Laminate them and stick them on the table. When a customer scans, they land on your menu with the table number already set. They order and pay from their phone. The order shows up in your kitchen display with a bold 'Table 4' badge so staff know exactly where it's going.
Yes — pick 'Both' when you sign up (or change it in Settings anytime). Hybrid mode gives you all food truck features and all restaurant features under one login, one subscription. Useful if you have a brick-and-mortar location and also run a catering truck, or if you do weekend markets out of your restaurant kitchen.
